Procurement is a vital business function encompassing a range of activities focused on delivering added value to the orgainsation, whilst managing commercial risk in a variety of ways.
The purpose of procurement is to develop and implement strategies that meet the needs of the business for today and the future. The team ensures that the sourcing strategies we use not only deliver cost effective agreements, but also that the business trades with safe and competent suppliers, that surety of supply is maintained, and that sustainability and innovation are key elements of the decision-making process.
At each stage of the process, business engagement is key to success so whilst the team is a central function, its members are heavily embedded in both our operational and other functions teams. It’s a brilliant team to join to gain an overview of how the rest of our business works and their impact for Tarmac.
The team has completed its second Supplier Sustainability week aimed at driving sustainability initiatives with and in our supply chain, sharing best practice and becoming the customer of choice for our suppliers.
