Our logistics team is made up of over 180 colleagues working across the country to enable the materials business to deliver to both external and internal customers.


We offer a wide variety of roles within an area of the business which strives to deliver materials as efficiently as possible by road, rail and even sea. You’ll work in an area of our business which offers a number of different opportunities within our numerous sub-teams.

Our logistics division is one of the fastest growing areas of our business as we develop our ‘logistics academy’ to help support new starters with their initial training and onboarding. We’re one of the largest rail and road fleets in the UK, transporting millions of tonnes of aggregates, asphalt and concrete across the whole of the UK every year.

Our Teams

The function is headed by a logistics director, with four senior regional logistics managers, logistics excellence manager, head of rail, logistics development manager and a logistics contracts manager. There are a variety of teams and roles you might be interested in:

Transport managers – Responsible for fleet performance and safety and leading the relationships with hauliers. You’ll be passionate about analysing performance, relationship building and communication to help improve a variety of areas of the business. Safety is our top priority in everything we do and so recognising the risks involved in transporting materials and doing everything we can do minimise these is essential.


Distribution - Supervisors, planners and customer service coordinators come together to ensure we process customer orders effectively and plan them in the most efficient way possible. Our goal is to deliver exceptional customer service, whilst driving efficiency with regards to transport costs and with haulier earnings. This is a hugely colllaborative team who drive strong communication and teamwork to help everyone win.

Analysts - Support the regions with insights on key performance indicator detail, to drive performance and optimisation across all teams. You’ll bring together all departments to ensure we’re performing as efficiently and effectively as possible. We’re constantly looking for ways to develop and improve our logistics function and you’ll be at the centre of this, combining a keen eye for trends and numbers with creative suggestions on how to drive positive change.
