Safety and health is Tarmac’s number one priority and the core focus of everything we do.
The HSEQ team is a support function that supports the business to meet our duty in health, safety, and environmental legislation to staff, contractors, hauliers, and those affected by our activities daily. The team is packed with highly qualified, passionate professionals who want the best for our business and our people.
The department provides advice, guidance, and information to the business. You'll play a key role in the delivery of the company’s safety plan. All colleagues are supported and encouraged to work safely whether you’re site-based, office-based or split your time. From practical guidance and hands-on support to wellbeing resources and healthcare opportunities, we ensure our colleagues feel safe and looked after at all times.
Qualifications and accreditations on offer
This is a team packed with HSE professionals who have years of experience and will be there to support you throughout your career with the company. To enable your development, we can offer the following qualifications:
- IOSH – Institution of Occupational Safety and Health
- NEBOSH – National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health
- CIEH – Chartered Institute of Environmental Health
- NVQ – National Vocational Qualifications
- IRCA – Lead Auditor Qualifications
- MCERTS – Management Systems
Ultimately you will become a practitioner of Health and Safety or Environment with membership in the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health or IEMA.

Our HSEQ colleagues cover everything from advising on business strategy and collating key data informing any trends that may need addressing, to delivering and supporting operational sites with safety training.
