Training and development opportunities
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a person that is hard working and self-motivated, someone who can work within a team, but also work using their own initiative.
Experience or qualifications are not essential as all training and Personal Protective Equipment will be provided.
The available role will be based on a 48hr contract, which will involve occasional overtime. Weekends will be required at times and are on a rotary basis.
The role is hands-on, which will require the sampling and testing of aggregates, asphalt and readymix materials on a daily basis, where accuracy is paramount. This will be carried out to the highest safety standards and within your manual handling capabilities.
Samples will be obtained from both the rear of lorries and also from stockpiles situated within live working quarries.
It will also be required to visit other sites within Tarmac along with customer sites (using a company van) and carry out similar sampling and testing duties.
Computer skills are a must, as various programs will be used on a daily basis. The majority of programs being used are job specific and on the job training will be given.
Reporting of samples will be required to multiple departments within Tarmac and on some occasions to our customers too.
The successful applicant will be part of a three-man team reporting to a Senior Technician and Technical Supervisor and will have zero direct reports.
