Who are we looking for?

 

We’re looking for a  Mechanical and Electrical apprentice to develop their skills to maintain equipment and assets in our Barnstone Packing Plant. We will be looking for candidates who are interested in how things work, who like thinking things through and coming up with practical solutions.  As our ideal Apprentice you will need to be enthusiastic, well organised, and self-motivated.

You will have 5 GCSE’s including English and Maths at Grade C or above

 

What might my programme entail?

 

The apprentice development programme is an opportunity for the business to develop skills and knowledge for the future and to bring in fresh perspectives and ideas, at the same time enabling people to earn as they learn their trade and gain a recognised qualification.

We will be looking for candidates with practical and technical aptitude and who can demonstrate an interest in science, engineering or technology and who are interested in a career in engineering. Equally importantly we will be looking for people whose attitudes and behaviours are in line with our Values. The roles of our mechanical and electrical team are responsible for repairing and maintaining a wide range of equipment on site in an industrial environment.

 

The nature of the work means that individuals need to be confident working with electrical and mechanical components of varying sizes, the nature of the equipment means you need to be methodical and systematic in your working.  Much of our equipment is located at ground level but there are some pieces of kit that require working at height and in confined spaces..  The working environment will be varied and require indoor and outdoor working
