What are we looking for?
As our ideal Quarry Manager, you will be a strong team player with excellent communication skills and a desire to work and lead a small team.
You will be experienced in Quarry Management and Operations, have product and technical appreciation as well as knowledge and experience in performance management of direct reports and a whole team. Alongside this you would hold SHE NVQ Level 4 and Mineral Extractives Qualification.
You would be expected to comply with the Tarmac Safety Management System; ensuring that all site activities carried out are in line with standards and policies, support the culture of health and safety best practice by setting a personal example, ensure all staff and contractors working on site are fully inducted and comply with Tarmac standards and policies.
You will also carry out and record daily safety briefings, weekly health and safety inspections for the site. It is crucial that the Quarry Manager complies with planning and other operating restrictions eg site boundaries, noise, dust and working hours.
What will I be responsible for?
You will be responsible for leading a team of operational staff focusing on delivering exceptional SHE standards and meeting financial and production targets. You will manage and deliver the Operations Strategy within the site and be responsible for people development and instilling a culture of health and safety best practice by driving a culture of SHE continuous improvement. You will also focus on coordinating all aspects of day to day operation of the quarry through the site team and to coordinate maintenance activities during a normal day and during shutdowns.
