What are we looking for?
To assist on site and in the office in the production of detailed measured quarry topographic and volumetric surveys.
Preferably educated to degree level in either surveying, geomatics, geography, engineering or another related discipline, with good literacy and numeracy skills.
Driving licence essential.
Some surveying, geography, geomatics or engineering knowledge required, preferably with some land surveying experience.
Computer literate, preferably with some CAD knowledge/experience. Knowledge of LSS software an advantage but not essential.
Internal training will be given, with the successful applicant joining the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors Advanced Development Scheme to attain "Technical" membership status. Based at Stancombe , the projects will be mostly across Central & Wales and Southern region sites, but occasionally national.
What will I be responsible for?
As part of a team with the Land Surveyor, assist in the use of the latest surveying instrumentation to safely collect data on site for all required surveys within the Tarmac quarry environment such as:
• Update and extension surveys for quarries, and producing relevant plans using LSS software.
• Carrying out and calculating stock volumetric surveys.
• Carrying out and calculating earthworks volumetric surveys for quarries.
• Setting out of restoration and earthworks.
• Hydrographic surveys using sonar technology.
• Ground Stability Monitoring.
