What are we looking for?
The Maintenance Manager works with the team of Fitters, Electricians, Contractors and Operatives to meet safety, production and financial targets. We are looking for a highly driven and motivated individual who has demonstratable experience of working within a 24/7 operation with a shift based operating system. You should hold a relevant degree and ideally have a Lean/Six Sigma qualification. Team working and leading a diverse team is key whilst also having the ability to coach, mentor and delevop not only the current team but the apprentices within the operation. Budget, forecasting and preventative maintenance experience will be advantageous.
What will I be responsible for?
The Maintenance manager works with the team of Fitters, Electricians, Contractors & Operatives to meet the safety, production and financial targets for the Unit. All activities are to be undertaken in accordance with the Tarmac Safety and environmental management System, as well as site systems, policies and procedures.
They will deputise for the Section 8.1© as required in rotation with the management team, and will retain accountability for the line management responsibilities. They will also administer, record and monitor the scheduled maintenance process documentation, ensuring that the supporting documentation (RA/MS/Permits to work etc) for the scheduled maintenance processes is readily available, complete and up to date such that all employees on site (permanent and relief) use best practice methods.
Safety – Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe manner, and in accordance with the Tarmac Safety Management System. This includes issuing Permit to Work when required, developing and using SOP’s, Method statements and risk assessments.
Cost – Optimise costs within area of control
Quality – Supply of product to agreed customer specification
Maintenance work carried out to agreed standards
Delivery – Uses area of control to maximize production delivery in terms of Maintenance and availability of the plant.
Performance Management and Continuous Improvement
- Fulfill any responsibilities outlined in the Quarry Regulations
- Effective supervision of day and night maintenance operations
- Agree and review KPI’s with Works Manager
- Meet or exceed agreed KPI’s.
- Run-, & participate in team meetings
- Identify, communicate & implement opportunities for continuous improvement
- Carry out problem solving for plant/site issues with RCA’s.
