Who are we looking for?
As our ideal Production Manager, you will be a good team player who has their own safety, and that of your colleagues and your team, always in mind in everything you do - and you are someone who holds high standards and accountability in the team you lead. You will be a proven good communicator across multiple levels and departments, be passionate about reliability and lead the site to ensure it operates to optimum capacity. Importantly, you are someone who wants their business to grow and get better every day and will lead and direct accordingly.
Prior experience of leading front-line teams to success and working with multiple department to achieve your goals in a manufacturing environment is essential. Aircrete process knowledge is ideal, but not essential - candidates without Aircrete knowledge should not be deterred from applying.
Ideally a successful candidate would have passed a form of workplace health and safety certification, awarded from either IOSH or NEBOSH, or equivalent bodies.
Note there are x2 Production Manager roles being recruited for – shift-based and a days-based (with shift cover) role. The days-based role will be responsible for managing the Upstream elements of the site, but will be required to cover shifts for holiday and sickness at periods of time through the year.
What will I be responsible for?
The successful Production Manager will be accountable for all aspects of maintaining a safe, front-line, working environment - ensuring adherence to safety standards is adhered to and improved through their team. The Production Manager is responsible for delivering production plan volume and adherence targets; resource planning across multiple shifts and meeting cost and delivering on performance related metrics for your area of responsibility. The Production Manager is responsible for driving reliability through the team and is expected to work closely with Engineering colleagues to reduce top pareto performance limitations so to improve the plant OEE %, and thus, serve customers with high repeatability and reliability.
You will also take responsibility for:
- Embedding a step-change safety culture - a high accountability model through your team
- Continuous improvement towards plant and production methods which led to sustainable reliability improvement of the plant.
- Development, introduction, and embedding multiple standards across the operation - with locally agreed/national/legislative compliance monitored and deviations managed accordingly.
